If you are unhappy with your purchase, please return it to us and we will exchange it or give you a full refund. You must return it within 28 days and include your receipt. Please use the original packaging with all the documentation and enclose a note giving the reason for the return and, if defective, describing the fault. Please return any damaged goods within 14 days for refund or replacement. CDs and CD-ROMs These can only be returned if they are unopened and in their original condition, unless faulty or sent by us in error.
Payments will be refunded if there is any issue with the download process. Once a download has been completed and Audio files accessed no refund can be made.
These recordings are in copyright and may not be copied, published or disseminated in any way, including via the internet or radio or television broadcast, without the permission of the copyright holders.
All competitions are operated by the British Library Board of 96 Euston Road, London NW1 2DB, United Kingdom, ("We" "Us" and "Our"). "You" and "Your" shall mean you, the person entering the Competition.
1.1 If You enter the Competition You are deemed to have agreed to abide by all of the following Terms and Conditions together with any amendments thereto (both of which are non-negotiable) under which the Competition is run, and to be bound by them. We may disqualify You without prior notice if You are in breach of any of these Terms and Conditions or any revised Terms and Conditions that We may from time to time impose.
1.2 We reserve the right to cancel the Competition at any stage if We deem this necessary or circumstances arise that are outside Our control.
2.1 The Competition is open to anyone, excluding employees or contractors of the British Library, any person directly or indirectly involved in the British Library or the running of the Competition, or their direct family members. Entry is free, and no purchase is necessary. Only one entry will be accepted per person
2.2 If You are under the age of 18 You must obtain permission from Your parent/guardian before You enter this competition. The British Library reserves the right to seek confirmation, whether written or oral, from the parent or guardian concerned.
2.4 All entries must be received by the closing date stated on promotional literature. Any entries received after this will not be considered. We cannot be held responsible for:
2.4.1 ineligible or fraudulent entries; or
2.4.2 any lost or late entries, due to the Internet, email or postal service or otherwise, even where proof of sending can be provided.
2.5 The results of the Competition will be announced a week after the competition closes. Winners will be contacted personally by email.
2.6 The judges decision shall be final, and no correspondence shall be entered into.
2.7 The prize must be taken as stated and cannot be deferred, exchanged or redeemed for its/their value. No alternate to the stated prize will be available.
3. Rights and permissions
3.1 If We are unable to contact any winner after making reasonable efforts to do so, or the prize is unclaimed after 28 days then the prize will be deemed to have been forfeited, and We reserve the right to either offer the prize to the entrant whose name is next drawn at random, or to re-offer the prize in any future competition We might run.
3.2 In the event that You are a winner, You agree to the following in relation to the Competition:
3.2.1 participate in any publicity planned by Us, if required; and
3.2.2 allow the posting of Your details on Our website.
4. Applicable Law
4.1 These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law. You hereby submit to and agree that the sole jurisdiction and venue for any actions that may arise under or in relation to the subject matter hereof shall be the courts of England and Wales.
If you are returning an item because it is faulty or because we have made an error, we will refund the postage. Otherwise, you will be responsible for such cost. To return an item, please send it to the address below. This does not affect your statutory rights.
You have the right to cancel the contract for the purchase of any item within seven days of delivery. Please note though that CDs and CD-ROMs cannot be cancelled once the seal is broken. To cancel your contract please return the item with a note explaining the reasons for the cancellation to the address below.
The purchase price of the item will be refunded, though not any postage costs incurred when we sent the item to you or when you returned the item to us.
