Royal Manuscripts: The Genius of Illumination (CD)

Medieval and Renaissance music inspired by the British Library exhibition

This captivating CD seeks to bring to life medieval and Renaissance music. Highlights include performances from the Eton Choirbook, and from one of the crowning glories of music from the Tudor period, Tallis’s monumental Spem in Alium.

Performances are by The Sixteen - Harry Christophers and the Hilliard Ensemble.

This CD is inspired by the British Library's exhibition, Royal Manuscripts: The Genius of Illumination. It is through manuscript collections such as these that the music survives today.
