“Τοu koutaliou” [by the spoon in Greek] treats are usually served “straight” in a small, glass plate with a teaspoon. Yet, in they can be enjoyed as an accompaniment to yoghurt, cheese, ice cream, tarts or as a spread.

In Greek mythology, Mount Pelion (which took its name from the mythical king Peleus, father of Achilles) was the homeland of Chiron the Centaur, tutor of many ancient Greek heroes, such as Jason, Achilles, Theseus and Heracles. It was also on Mount Pelion, where the uninvited goddess Eris brought a golden apple with the inscription "To the Fairest" that started the dispute among the goddesses Hera, Aphrodite and Athena resulted in events leading to the Trojan War.
Pelion is famous for its traditional little grey-stoned houses and paved alleys that charm in abundance, as well as for its unique landscape. It has to one side the Pagasitikos Gulf and to the other the Aegean Sea.
On this magical mountain, nature flourishes all year long, giving life to a vast variety of fruit trees, which lavishly offer their treasures to the local cuisine.
