    The Twelve Apostles print

The colourful image presents the standing figures of the twelve apostles. The original image acts as a frontispiece for a collection of texts called the Synodicon, the proceedings of the early church councils, which set out the agreed principles of the Christian faith. The manuscript was created in Gondar, Ethiopia in the late 17th century. Or. 481, f.156v.
