We invited the activist organisations who contributed to our Unfinished Business: The Fight for Women's Rights exhibition to produce prints that showcase the ethos of their organisation.
£ 5.15 of the proceeds from each print goes to Laydeez do Comics.
About Laydeez do Comics:
LDComics is women led and welcomes everyone. A UK based unincorporated voluntary organisation with national and international branches it was established in 2009 as Laydeez do Comics. Now run by a committee of six women creators, each member has contributed a drawn square to make up the poster image, reflecting the ethos of LDC: being drawn together through our comics-based creative process.
LDC activity is focused towards supporting and promoting the work of comics artists, particularly women. The interest is in more autobiographical or domestic comics works. With a methodology of friendship, LDC first began with physical meetings based on a warm social atmosphere to enjoy illustrated presentations from invited guests. This has grown to include professional development activity, both physical and online, such as mentoring and an annual festival with a women-only prize for graphic novels in progress. A part of LDC activity is supported by Arts Council England.
