Originally created as a coloured wood-engraving this map of China is drawn in perspective by the celebrated Japanese artist Hokusai in his 81st year, i.e. 1840-41. He signs his name 'Manji, the Old Man mad about drawing.' The map was engraved by Egawa Sentaro and published by Seiundo, probably at Edo. Maps 188.v.3
